Download the Construction Purchase Order Template that is created for construction create purchase orders for specific projects to be completed. From building a shed or a fence to building an entire home, materials must be purchased.

How To Write

Step 1 – Company Information

  • At the top left corner place the name of the company who will be providing services and accepting material order deliveries
  • Under the company name, place the company office address:
  • Street Number
  • City, State, Zip
  • Telephone number, Fax Number

Step 2 – Customer Information –

  • In the first section of the order enter the following information:
  • Customer Number
  • Phone
  • Order Date
  • Order Taken By (name of the person taking the order)
  • Starting Date
  • Servicer
  • Bill To – (Contractor’s company, or the customer’s name if they are paying up front)
  • Customer’s Street Address
  • City, State, Zip Code
  • Job Name/Location
  • Check the box that describes the job category
  • Telephone number at the job site
  • If the customer is the person who will be paying for the materials directly, place the customer’s mailing information on the lines
  • If the construction company has a line of credit and will be handling the purchases until the job is complete, place the company name and mailing address as well as an ATTN: (name of person who handles billing and payments)

Step 3 – Description of Job and Materials-

  • Describe the type of construction that will be needed and the needed materials
  • Bottom Left – enter any comments
  • Check the box that is appropriate for payment
  • Total Materials (cost total)
  • Total Labor (cost of labor for the job)
  • Tax
  • Calculate all and enter the all inclusive amount in the “Total” box

Step 4 – Job Completion –

  • Once the job is completed, enter the date completed
  • Enter the name of the person who actually ordered the job
  • Once the contractor has gone over the work with the customer and the customer is satisfied, have the customer enter their signature at the end of the form
  • If payment is required on completion, collect payment
