The Alabama special power of attorney, also known as the ‘limited’, allows for a principal to delegate their personal rights and responsibilities to someone else as they seem fit. The document should illustrate specifically how the person they have chosen will represent them and if the document should be considered durable (meaning if the agent should have the powers in the circumstance the principal may no longer make decisions for themselves).

Once the document has been signed and agreed to by all parties the form should be kept by both principal and agent. The agent may need to show the document at the time of acting on behalf of the principal.
